Passing bipartisan market structure legislation will help us future-proof against rogue regulators, ensuring that we achieve President Trump’s goal to make the U.S. the crypto capital of the world.Paul Atkins · 2026/01/13
As I told @MariaBartiromo last week, U.S. financial markets are poised to move on-chain. Under my leadership, @SECGov is prioritizing innovation and embracing new technologies to enable this on-chain future, while continuing to protect investors. Today, the Division of Trading and Markets issued a no-action letter to the Depository Trust Company (DTC) regarding DTC’s voluntary securities tokenization pilot program. DTC’s initiative marks an important step towards on-chain capital markets. On-chain markets will bring greater predictability, transparency, and efficiency for investors. DTC’s participants will now be allowed to transfer tokenized securities directly to the registered wallets of other participants, which will be tracked by DTC’s official records. I’m excited to see the benefits of this program to our financial markets and will continue to encourage market participants to innovate as we move towards on-chain settlement. But this is just the beginning. I look forward to @SECGov considering an innovation exemption to allow innovators to begin transitioning our markets on-chain by harnessing new technologies and business models — without being burdened by cumbersome regulatory requirements.Paul Atkins · 2025/12/11
The great leaps of American life were produced by a willingness to tolerate and accept risks—within a system that rewards those who take them. But in recent years, regulations have veered from the ideals that established the U.S. as the destination for public companies.Paul Atkins · 2025/12/10
Capital is the instrument through which an individual can marshal the resources of a free society in pursuit of shared prosperity. It is the instrument through which we can create value in the lives of others by creating value in our own.Paul Atkins · 2025/12/10
