Franklin Bets on Three Technologies

Franklin Templeton's Digital Assets Division states that crypto assets, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing will jointly define the next decade.

This statement does not disclose new investments, products, partnerships, or funding amounts, but rather serves as a public positioning of its digital asset business towards future technology asset allocation, rather than a specific transaction announcement.

Since entering the digital asset space in 2018, Franklin Templeton has covered Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and multi-asset crypto exposure, and is advancing on-chain funds and tokenized financial products through the Benji Technology Platform.

The company completed its acquisition of 250 Digital in June 2026 and established the Franklin Crypto active digital asset management division to expand institutional-level crypto strategies, independently managed accounts, and digital asset investment solutions.

Its tokenized U.S. government liquidity fund recently partnered with HashKey Exchange to distribute to professional investors in Asia; reports describe the product's scale as approximately $720 million, indicating its layout has extended from crypto asset ETFs to on-chain cash management and tokenized collateral.

In market mechanisms, institutional funds are not buying isolated narratives of "crypto, AI, and quantum," but rather productizable underlying scarce resources: crypto provides programmable settlement and on-chain ownership, AI consumes computing power, data, and energy, while quantum poses long-term reassessment pressure on existing crypto security systems. Beneficiaries include custodians, tokenized funds, GPU and power infrastructure, and post-quantum security vendors; participants relying on traditional clearing chains, low-barrier model services, and old cryptographic standards face valuation and technological replacement pressures.
