He looks forward to meeting in his new role at Apple Park and around the world.

A transition timeline was announced in April. Cook also posted a farewell message to the user community as CEO. There is external attention on the pressures the successor will face in their first year, including artificial intelligence, regulation, and the Chinese supply chain, but these topics were not elaborated on in the letter.

In terms of market mechanisms, the long-term funds that pay for a smooth transition and avoid governance vacuums are being sold off as the founder's charisma premium.
