The Trump administration unveiled a science initiative totaling over $6 billion at the New Golden Age of Science Summit, funded by the federal government, corporations, academia, and charitable organizations.

Among this, $2.4 billion comes from 11 companies to the Genesis Task Force for superintelligent tools and computing power, supporting over 15 federal agencies' national science and technology challenges. NVIDIA contributes $1 billion, AMD $500 million, OpenAI $200 million, Anthropic and Google each $150 million, AMP and Emerald AI each $100 million, and AWS, Armada, Crusoe, and Micron each $50 million. This follows the expansion of the task to over 15 agencies in July, with federal commitments exceeding $5 billion.

On the biological side, the National Institutes of Health, Department of Energy, and Biohub are launching an $1.8 billion virtual biology project to create a data and modeling foundation for virtual cells, predicting cellular and biological system responses to diseases and potential interventions. The project is under Bio Genesis, aiming to double the speed of biomedical innovation within 5 to 10 years.

On the quantum side, the Department of Energy has outlined 8 priority applications, guiding a $215 million Quantum Genesis Q competition to fund teams demonstrating fault-tolerant and scientifically useful quantum computers. The National Science Foundation has also set up two competitions, each with $33 million in prizes, focusing on quantum cross-applications and synthetic multicell systems. In aerospace, NASA and the Department of Energy signed a memorandum to collaborate on space nuclear power and nuclear fuel. Space Reactor-1 is a nuclear-powered Mars probe aimed for launch in 2028, while Lunar Reactor-1 will be the first fission reactor on the Moon.

Also included are education and institutional initiatives. The Genesis Scholarship is $100 million, designed for a four-year accelerated PhD program, combining superintelligence with another science or engineering discipline, and involving corporate and national laboratory partnerships. More than 14 universities and 10 states are forming a Southeast Regional Computing Alliance. Georgia and its universities and businesses announced a $1 billion investment in scientific computing and workforce development. The X-Labs Alliance has over $310 million in industry and charitable commitments, building on the National Science Foundation's $1.5 billion X-Labs program from May.

The buyers are federal laboratories and university projects, while the sellers are chip, model, and cloud vendors contributing credits instead of cash. The event is driven by summit subscriptions. NVIDIA alone accounts for over 40% of the $2.4 billion credits, with funding forms as tools and computing credits, entering energy, health, and space challenges. Beneficiaries are the institutions receiving credits and suppliers exchanging credits for federal research workflows. Those not on the list of 11 companies but competing for the same pool of scientists' default computing power are under pressure. Once credits are exhausted, renewals will still follow procurement processes.
