First Round partner Brett Berson stated that his team invested in Rillet's founder Nic Kopp's company, then known as GNAU, in its early startup phase; over five years later, the company has evolved into Rillet.

Berson mentioned that when First Round first met Kopp, the company was still in its very early stages, and almost no one in the market knew its name; the investment logic was based on the founder's long-term patience, execution resilience, and customer orientation, rather than the market noise at the time.

Rillet is currently positioned as an AI-native ERP and accounting software for modern enterprises, attempting to reconstruct general ledgers, reconciliations, closings, reports, and financial operations processes through automation and AI agents, targeting the core financial systems market traditionally dominated by ERP.

Public disclosures indicate that Rillet has served over 600 companies across 60 countries and has established partnerships with EY, KPMG, and half of the top 30 accounting firms in the U.S. This data comes from its investor ICONIQ's public statements, while specific customer retention rates, contract amounts, and net revenue retention rates have not been disclosed.

Berson stated that Rillet's name recognition is rising and hinted that the company may be nearing new business or capital market developments; however, the post did not disclose financing rounds, valuations, revenue scales, financing amounts, or any specific announcements, so it cannot be interpreted as confirmed financing or IPO signals.
