The Build with Gemini XPRIZE, with a prize of $2 million, required participants to create a business with real users and revenue using artificial intelligence within 90 days, attracting over 26,000 registrants, with Polyfork winning first prize. The Future Vision XPRIZE, supported by Salesforce, ARK Invest, and others, has a prize of approximately $3.5 million, rewarding optimistic sci-fi imagery; the first place went to Jeff Synthesized's The Gifted, with judges including Neil deGrasse Tyson, Neal Stephenson, Mira Lane, and Rod Roddenberry. Diamandis mentioned that about 1,500 builders, creators, and optimists were present, dubbing the night the "Oscars of Optimism."

He has long used prize competitions to lower professional barriers: the Ansari XPRIZE spurred private space travel, and the carbon removal competition provided verifiable tonnage. This time, he framed "non-experts can drive change in a day" as a counter-narrative to feelings of powerlessness, targeting audiences who believe that AI and climate issues can only be driven by labs and governments. The film competition specifically addressed Hollywood's default dystopian scripts, while the building competition challenged the notion that delivery is impossible without teams and funding.

The event itself was a gathering and award ceremony, not a new scientific breakthrough. The proof points were the scale of participation, completed projects, and cash awarded on-site, rather than long-term social indicators. Diamandis concurrently operates Abundance360, Fountain Life, and the Moonshots podcast, selling the same brand of optimism to members, sponsors, and participants.
