A new selling method has emerged on TikTok: streamers are dismantling their background walls into advertising spaces for sale, which individuals can also purchase. After a transaction, a label is affixed to the wall, and the streamer continues to shoot short videos with the same background, allowing the ads to appear repeatedly in daily content.

The circulating prices are tiered by area, approximately $500, $200, and $100 per piece. One creator reported that within 24 hours of posting this method, about half of the wall space had already been sold. In the public video, others can be seen turning their rooms, roommates' rooms, and even areas around toilets into advertising spaces, with account names directly selling wall space.

Some have written the rules as an auction. A page called Sponsor My Wall starts bidding based on location, with prices ranging from about €100 to €650, with central positions starting at €650 for a duration of six months. The page states that the board is fixed in front of a desk, and whatever is filmed that week will be included, reaching over 100,000 people with its content, without separate spoken sponsorship segments.

In an earlier video, creator wahony mentioned selling every inch of his wall, leaving no space around switches, to pay rent. He then invited others to join the so-called advertising wall team, but in the latter half of the video, he admitted that the revenue from these ads did not go into his pocket. The platform has categorized similar content under brand collaborations and creator tags, with accounts like wall.of.space and davidddd updating their wall sales progress daily.

In comparison to formal quotes, nano creators earn about $50 to $300 for a regular TikTok video and about $100 to $500 for live streams. Wall advertising breaks down a single exposure into a continuous background, not settling per individual video. Buyers do not receive guarantees for views, click data, or advertising identification promises; what is sold is the physical location for future appearances.

This is inventory sales, not platform advertising products. Buyers are looking to exchange low budgets for repeated exposure of individuals and small brands, while sellers are streamers with fixed shooting backgrounds. Money flows from per-clip billing for spoken ads to stickers and printed labels on walls. Those who benefit are those who can continuously update and have stable backgrounds, while those under pressure are similar creators who are billed per clip, and advertisers who find updates stop after purchasing a location. Selling half a wall in 24 hours prices scarce shots, not delivered exposure.
