US President Donald Trump honored Elon Musk at the White House "Science: A New Golden Age" summit, calling him an industrial titan, outstanding engineer, and one of the greatest tech founders in history, referring to him as the modern Thomas Edison.

Trump stated that few Americans in history have advanced the national interests of the United States like Elon has, with his genius and determination turning science fiction into reality. The summit also awarded the National Medal of Science and the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, with honorees including Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, AMD CEO Lisa Su, Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell, and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

He specifically mentioned SpaceX: In 2002, Elon founded the company with his life savings, achieving the first privately developed liquid-fueled rocket to reach orbit under circumstances deemed nearly impossible; Trump noted that SpaceX has allowed NASA to no longer rely on foreign countries to send astronauts into space and congratulated Crew-12 for safely returning from the International Space Station just hours earlier.

Trump also stated that SpaceX developed the largest rocket in history, Starship, which can be caught in mid-air for rapid reuse; it also built the largest communication satellite network, Starlink. He recalled personally intervening during the North Carolina hurricane, where Starlink terminals were quickly sent to disaster areas, saving hundreds of lives.

Tesla was described as the first successful new car manufacturer in over 75 years, producing the first commercially viable electric vehicle with consumer-oriented autonomous driving technology. Neuralink was mentioned as helping those who cannot see, speak, or move to regain vision, speech, and movement; its related AI business was listed among the global leaders in superintelligence. Previously, the two had publicly split over government efficiency reforms and spending bills, but this honor signifies a rapprochement; Elon has returned to an advisory role, participating in the Pentagon's Project Meridian to research future warfare and military technology.

This is an event-driven political endorsement, not an order announcement. The buyer interprets national honor, space launches, satellite communications, and AI procurement as part of the same narrative; the seller views relationship repair as a non-sustainable political premium. Beneficiaries include SpaceX launches and Starlink, Tesla's robotics and autonomous driving narratives, and xAI's computational power chain; those under pressure are traditional aerospace contractors still reliant on government launch contracts and established automakers priced out by Tesla in the electric vehicle market.
