The official description referred to it as a "strike against IRGC targets" but did not confirm every specific city, port, or island covered by the attack.

Iranian state television reported explosions in the southern port city of Abbas Port and on Qeshm Island; Iranian-affiliated media also mentioned reports of explosions near Lavan Island, Sirik, Chabahar, and Konarak. Abbas Port, Qeshm Island, and Lavan Island are all near the shipping lanes of the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, but there is currently no independent and complete assessment of the battle damage.

Trump described the US military action as "large-scale and powerful" and warned Iran against retaliation; Iran, on the other hand, stated that the US would "regret" this new round of strikes. Public statements from both sides indicate that the conflict has escalated from risks to commercial shipping in the Strait and attacks on regional troops to direct US airstrikes on IRGC facilities within Iran.
