Public rankings show that Ethereum's market cap has risen from around 100th to about 61st among global assets within a few months.

This trajectory first declined and then reversed. In late June 2026, ETH's market cap fell to approximately $184 billion to $197 billion, briefly dropping out of the top 100 global assets, while USDT's market cap was around $186 billion, temporarily surpassing ETH. By early July, ETH's market cap returned to about $215 billion to $216 billion, re-entering the top 100, ranking around 93rd to 95th, with a price of about $1785 to $1793, comparable to SoftBank and Shell. The circulating supply is approximately 120.68 million coins.

Currently, near public quotes, ETH's price is about $2517, with a market cap of approximately $307 billion, still the second-largest crypto asset; the 52-week range is about $1512 to $4762, with a nearly 30% increase in the past month, but still recording about a 44% decline over the past year. Bitcoin's market cap remains an order of magnitude higher, usually ranking in the top 15 overall. Different rankings have different criteria: some mix gold, ETFs, and listed companies, where ETH appears around 35th with a market cap of nearly $395 billion, with rankings fluctuating alongside stock prices and gold valuations.

The holding structure is also changing. Company treasuries holding ETH once exceeded spot ETFs: public statistics recorded 67 companies with strategic reserves of about 6.81 million coins, higher than the approximately 6.2 million coins held by ETFs. On the latest treasury list, BitMine Immersion reported holding about 5.93 million coins, equivalent to about $14.9 billion; SharpLink, The Ether Machine, and others follow closely. Spot ETFs and listed company treasuries have become two incremental demands that can push ETH's ranking higher on traditional asset lists.

The rise in ranking corresponds to a market cap recovery from dropping out of the top 100 to returning to the top 60 range, not just a single upgrade at the protocol layer. Trading volumes are influenced by spot ETF subscriptions and redemptions, company treasury accumulation, futures premiums, and spot selling pressure. Funds are entering ETH spot and staking packaged assets from stablecoin and fiat channels, which then reflects on the overall market cap ranking. Beneficiaries are treasury companies and ETF holders that have accumulated coins; those under pressure are trading volumes forced to liquidate around $184 billion, competing for the same ranking as gold and large-cap stocks.
