19-year-old Kai Trump has become a freshman on the University of Miami women's golf team. She is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, and the granddaughter of the current U.S. President. She hails from Stuart, Florida, and attended The Benjamin School in high school.

Team records indicate she has signed on for the 2026–27 season and has participated in the Srixon Medalist Tour, AJGA, and South Florida PGA Tour, with achievements including runner-up at the 2025 Village Golf Club Grand Slam, third at Lost City, second at the 2024 Martin County Junior Open, and a top-ten finish at a high school invitational. Her high school team won four consecutive district championships. In November 2025, she officially signed with two other players, with head coach Janice Olivencia noting her multi-sport background and competitive nature.

She verbally committed to Miami in 2024, citing her relationship with the coach, proximity to home, and family ties. She will enroll after graduating high school in May 2026 and will take the official team photo at the start of the season. In early September, she registered as an individual player for the South Carolina Golfweek Fall Challenge, making her collegiate debut alongside teammate Carlee Rogers; prior to this, the team had already won their first tournament title at the Boilermaker Classic. Before and after enrollment, she mentioned recovering from wrist surgery, a streptococcus infection during her first week, and the social limitations of being a student-athlete.
