Netflix is now a streaming giant, and he has stated he has no official ties to the company and cannot help people get their films on the platform. Early on, he once felt that a $50,000 domain name was too expensive and gave up his preferred name.

On compensation, he emphasized life stages: when there are no mortgages or families, one can lean towards equity, but with fixed expenses, one should opt for fewer options. Netflix once provided everyone with a fully cash target salary and then let individuals decide how much to convert to equity. He often defines success as a stable marriage with a fixed date night each week, rather than the seventh company corresponding to the seventh marriage.
