Rauch's journey from self-taught programming in Argentina, creating open-source libraries, to founding Vercel and promoting Next.js has always focused on lowering the barriers to front-end and cloud deployment; recently, he emphasized agent engineering and software factories in the AI era, viewing the realization of credible sci-fi as a possibility within our lifetime.

On the capital front, Vercel's valuation has risen to about $9.3 billion driven by demand for AI coding and hosting, with resources directed towards enabling developers to deploy faster and leverage AI infrastructure; the motivation is to capture the shift from static web pages to agent-based applications while emphasizing that humans still need to maintain creativity and security control.

Similar cases include other infrastructure companies that have made "making building easier" their core in the tech wave and have repositioned products under AI acceleration; we are currently in a phase of software development transitioning from handwritten code to agent-guided processes, with elements of credible sci-fi accelerating to reality.

Essentially, this belongs to a framework of technological acceleration and agency: re-pricing future possibilities from distant sci-fi to a process that the current generation may witness, but under the condition of "playing our cards right," shifting value from pure technological advancement to a combination of human choice, security control, and deployment capability.

Credible sci-fi will be realized in our lifetime, but only if we play our cards right
From handwritten code to guiding agents, the value of infrastructure decreases along with the barriers
The luckiest generation is often those who live in the window where technology shifts from possibility to deployable
