Nikita Bier stated that his X work computer was officially disconnected two hours ago. He described the app as having given him the most interesting chapter of his life, writing "Goodnight, my little app," with the last line being "On to the next chapter." Elon Musk replied, "Thank you for everything you did."

His profile has been changed to unemployed, former X product head, while retaining two entrepreneurial experiences: tbh acquired by Meta and Gas acquired by Discord. He stepped down from the product head position on August 5. At that time, he wrote that it was time to pass the torch and return to his natural state as a poster while remaining as an advisor. The roles have been divided: Benji Taylor is in charge of design, Jonah Katz as iOS lead, and Mridul Singhai as product lead. Today's post marks the disconnection of computer access, not the first announcement of his departure.

During his tenure, he publicly stated that in about 400 days, the timeline, Android app, onboarding process, notifications, and chat were almost completely rebuilt, launching nearly 30 products; the app store ranking rose 70 places compared to a year ago. His tenure closely followed the departure of former CEO Linda Yaccarino and occurred just weeks before the merger listing of SpaceX, X, and xAI.

Creator revenue sharing was the area he publicly engaged in the most. In April, he wrote that the payment for aggregated accounts was reduced to 60% for this cycle, with a further 20% reduction in the next cycle; the practice of writing spontaneous interactive bait on each post would also see reduced payments. His exact words were that there would be no restrictions on speech and reach, but no payments for manipulating plans or users. In September, the platform replaced the old creator revenue sharing with original content rewards, paying only for qualified displays visible on the home timeline of premium subscribers, with replies no longer counted, and reposts, media retransmissions, and unmodified shares excluded. The company also sued a network of six accounts in the High Court of England and Wales, claiming they used nearly identical encrypted viral titles to mutually like and share, taking at least £207,384 before their accounts were suspended in August.

The disconnection of access is not a product release. The buyers are creators still waiting for original rewards; the sellers are the platform rules that removed aggregation and bait from payments. The event was driven by the end of the advisory period and the disconnection of the computer, not a new revenue sharing ratio. Beneficiaries are the three individuals who took over design, iOS, and product in August; those under pressure are the creators who previously approached him for handling monetization cancellations and transfers, as the public response channel has changed personnel. The next chapter has not been written.
