Phaze completes $8.75 million seed round, led by a16z, to provide remote high-performance computer access for people and AI agents
Phaze announced on November 4, 2026 that it had completed an $8.75 million seed round, led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Indie, NextView, Makers Fund and Lerer Hippeau.
The company was co-founded by Benjy Boxer and Chris Dickson, who were previously the founders of remote desktop company Parsec. Phaze provides a secure, high-performance remote computer access platform that enables people and AI agents to connect from any device to workstations located in different places, supporting workloads such as CAD, rendering and software testing, and allowing agents and people to hand off control within the same session.
The company said it will use the funds to expand its engineering team, accelerate product development and support customer growth. Martin Casado, a general partner at a16z, said that high-end computing power should not be left idle, and that Phaze is turning it into infrastructure shared by people and AI agents.

ABAB AI Insight
Parsec had provided high-performance remote desktop services for graphics-intensive applications and was later acquired by Unity. Phaze’s founders are reviving that direction and expanding the target to serve both human employees and AI agents at the same time.
AI agents need real computer environments to run applications, test software and collaborate with people in handoffs. Phaze treats workstations as shared infrastructure rather than devices tied to an individual, and incorporates enterprise authentication, directory synchronization and audit logs.
The use of funds focuses on expanding engineering and accelerating product development. Key points to watch are actual low-latency performance, the depth of agent integration and enterprise customers’ adoption of the shared-workstation model.

The seed financing announcement is jointly disclosed by the company and investors, and the amount and participating investors are subject to the official press release.
Remote access for people and AI agents is a product positioning description; actual performance and security controls depend on subsequent deployment and customer validation.
