Grok Bot officially announces it now supports making phone calls
Grok Bot’s official account posted on X on November 4, 2026, saying that Grok Bot can now make phone calls.
This feature allows users to instruct the Bot to contact individuals or businesses, make requests on their behalf, handle the call, and provide a call summary afterward. Before the call, users must approve the call; during the call, they can view a real-time text transcript and can take over or end the call at any time.
Elon Musk had previously mentioned this capability. At present, this feature is mainly available for eligible U.S. accounts to call U.S. numbers, is still being rolled out gradually by account, and requires updating to the latest version of the Grok Bot app. The related features are included in the X Premium, Super, and Ultra subscriptions.

ABAB AI Insight
Grok Bot is an AI agent application launched by xAI and had previously supported automated operations such as email, calendar, and web tasks. This addition of phone-calling capability allows the Bot to directly handle scenarios that require voice interaction, such as canceling services, making appointments, or negotiating bills.
Based on the publicly shown demonstrations, the Bot can navigate voice menus, respond to retention offers, and complete tasks according to user preset conditions. The feature is still in a phased rollout stage, and currently mainly covers numbers within the United States; international support is listed as a follow-up plan.
The points to watch are the actual availability coverage, call success rate, and user feedback on the real-time takeover mechanism. The official side has not yet listed detailed parameters and limitations in the public changelog.

The official account post constitutes direct evidence of the feature announcement, but it does not mean that all accounts can use it immediately or that it covers all regions.
The real-time transcript and takeover mechanism during calls are part of the user control design, and their actual performance depends on the specific scenario and network conditions.
