LayerZero to Cease Off-Chain Support for Multiple Low-Activity Chains
LayerZero announced that due to extremely low activity on certain chains, it will gradually stop providing off-chain support for EDU Chain, Meter, Shimmer, Cyber, Silicon, Sophon, Bitlayer, DFK Chain, Arbitrum Nova, DOS Chain, Cronos zkEVM, Degen, Skale Europa, Superposition, and Shrapnel within the next 30 days.
At that time, LayerZero's DVN and Executor services will no longer support the aforementioned networks, and some networks will also lose Stargate Hydra support.
Stargate users are advised to redeem Hydra assets (USDC.e, wETH, Hydra USDT) on these chains as soon as possible, and it is recommended to bridge to liquidity pools with deeper liquidity such as Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and BSC, otherwise they may lose access to their funds.
This adjustment is part of LayerZero's ongoing optimization of resources and focus on high-activity networks. Some low-activity chains have already been included in the deactivation list.
The deactivation will be implemented in phases, with specific dates to be confirmed by official updates.
From a market mechanism perspective, the withdrawal of support for low-activity chains encourages asset flow back to high-liquidity networks, concentrating funds from marginal chains to mainstream chains; this event is driven by operational optimization, benefiting high-activity ecosystems while putting pressure on cross-chain liquidity on the affected chains.

As a cross-chain infrastructure, LayerZero continuously evaluates the activity levels of various chains and withdraws off-chain services from low-usage networks. The expansion of the deactivation list indicates a shift in priority towards operational costs and security maintenance.
In terms of capital flow, the company aims to concentrate resources on high-activity chains by stopping DVN and Executor support, motivated by a desire to reduce maintenance burdens and enhance overall network efficiency. Specific actions include a phased withdrawal within 30 days and reminders for user redemptions.
Similar cases can be seen with other cross-chain protocols gradually abandoning low TVL or low-usage chains, as well as synchronous adjustments in products like Stargate; the current cross-chain landscape is transitioning from broad coverage to a focus on high efficiency.
This essentially represents capital concentration: cross-chain resources are shifting from dispersed low-activity chains to mainstream high-liquidity networks, with the mechanism filtering supported entities based on activity thresholds to optimize security and operational investment.

Chains with extremely low activity will ultimately be abandoned by infrastructure.
The 30-day redemption window is the last safety period for cross-chain assets.
