Meta launches AI fashion app Style Sketch in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand

On October 29, 2026, TechCrunch reported that Meta has launched an AI fashion app called Style Sketch to help users generate outfit suggestions using clothes they already own. The app can connect to Instagram to build a virtual wardrobe from photos users have already posted, or users can manually add clothing by taking photos, recording short videos, or uploading from their photo albums.

The app then suggests outfit combinations based on the user’s wardrobe and style preferences, and can also try them on “real models” that match the user’s body type and skin tone. Users can also select a specific item of clothing to get outfit suggestions centered on that item. The app also supports travel outfit planning: after users enter a destination, trip length, and planned activities, it can provide daily outfit plans that combine the weather forecast with the itinerary.

The app is currently available on iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. It was first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra. Meta did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment.

ABAB AI Insight

Style Sketch is Meta’s product attempt to apply AI to everyday consumer scenarios. The app builds a virtual wardrobe from photos already on Instagram or from manual uploads, then generates outfit combinations based on that inventory and offers virtual try-ons matched to body type and skin tone. This approach relies on the user’s existing content and clothing inventory rather than recommending new purchases.

On the capital path, Meta has recently launched several standalone AI apps, and Style Sketch is one of them. The initial launch scope is limited to Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, making it a regional test rather than a global release. Meta did not respond to media requests for comment and did not disclose any follow-up expansion plans or user scale data.

Unlike e-commerce tools that depend on recommendations for new products, this app focuses on combining and planning around existing clothing. Metrics to watch are downloads and usage in the three initial markets, and whether Meta expands it to other regions.

  1. An AI app based on users’ existing content and inventory can shift the recommendation path from new purchases to existing-item combinations.

  2. A region-limited launch indicates a product testing phase; future expansion depends on feedback from the initial markets and company disclosures.
