Broccoli says it serves more than 500 home services companies, annualized bookings exceed $1 billion, and year-end ARR is expected to exceed $60 million

On October 29, 2026, Y Combinator posted an introduction to Broccoli, a company in its Winter 2022 batch. The company is building an AI front office system for home services businesses that answers calls by voice and text, follows up with leads, and books services. Y Combinator said Broccoli currently serves more than 500 customers, annualized bookings exceed $1 billion, and year-end annual recurring revenue (ARR) is expected to exceed $60 million, up from zero two years ago. The company recently completed a $30 million Series B financing.

Co-founders Abhishek Jain and Aditya Ketkar said in YC's conversation that their previous electric vehicle-related startup did not find product-market fit. They visited about 140 contractors in the Bay Area to understand the problems, and built the first version of Broccoli inside a plumbing company. Answering missed calls became the entry point.

Broccoli's press release said it has raised a total of $52 million across its Series A and Series B rounds, both led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator and Operator Partners. The company said more than 1,500 home services businesses use its system, including Ace Hardware Home Services, Mr. Electric and Any Hour Group, and it has handled more than 10 million customer conversations and booked 2.5 million service and sales appointments.

Broccoli's product path starts with answering missed calls for the front-office operations of home services businesses. The company uses AI agents to integrate call intake, appointment entry, and follow-up into contractors' existing scheduling software rather than requiring customers to replace their systems. This entry point addresses a specific scenario in the home services industry where missed calls lead to lost potential jobs.

On the financing side, the company completed two rounds led by Khosla Ventures totaling $52 million within nine months. The customer counts in Y Combinator and the company press release differ (more than 500 vs. more than 1,500), which reflects statements from different points in time or different counting methods. Annualized bookings of more than $1 billion is an operating metric disclosed by the company or YC, not the company's own revenue scale; the company's expected year-end ARR of more than $60 million is its revenue target.

Unlike general-purpose AI customer service tools, Broccoli is integrated into scheduling and follow-up workflows for the home services industry. The key metrics to watch are whether the company discloses further customer growth and achieves its ARR, as well as its expansion progress beyond plumbing, HVAC, and electrical verticals.

  1. Starting from a single high-frequency pain point (missed calls) allows AI agents to be embedded into existing business processes rather than requiring customers to replace their systems.

  2. Operating metrics (annualized bookings) and company revenue metrics (ARR) are different in scope and cannot be directly equated.
