FTX Launches Fifth Creditor Distribution of Approximately $900 Million
FTX has begun its fifth creditor distribution, with approximately $900 million to be paid starting today.
Eligible creditors are expected to receive funds via BitGo, Kraken, or Payoneer within 1 to 3 business days, with most categories achieving a cumulative recovery rate exceeding 100%.
This distribution is part of the event-driven bankruptcy liquidation progress, enhancing market perception of FTX's asset recovery efficiency, benefiting related custody and payment channel targets, while putting pressure on the group of creditors who have not yet met pre-distribution requirements.

Since the FTX Recovery Trust began repayments in 2025, it has distributed nearly $10 billion to creditors, with a historical path including multiple large-scale distributions that have pushed the recovery rate for most customer claims above the principal, achieving rare overpayment in bankruptcy cases.
On the capital path, the trust continues to release cash through asset monetization and legal recourse, motivated by the goal of completing Chapter 11 restructuring as planned and prioritizing payments to convenience and non-convenience category creditors, shifting resources from litigation and asset sales to direct distributions.
Similar cases can be seen in the long-term creditor repayment process of Mt. Gox, as well as in traditional large bankruptcy cases with excess recoveries; currently, FTX is in the later distribution phase, with the industry position shifting from asset freeze to continuous cash inflow.
Essentially, this is a redistribution after capital concentration. Bankruptcy assets achieve excess recovery through efficient management, with capital flowing back to the market from impaired creditors, while validating the repayability of large crypto bankruptcies.
