StandX Decides Not to Issue Tokens and Will Gradually Cease Operations After One-Time Airdrop of DUSD

StandX announced it will not launch a platform token and will conduct a one-time, non-locked DUSD airdrop to the community, gradually ceasing operations.

The official announcement stated that the decision was made after a strategic assessment of the business and market environment. Since the mainnet launch in November 2025, it has served over 237,000 users, with a peak TVL exceeding $200 million. The platform claims to be the first perpetual contract DEX to launch a reward program for community market makers, with no security incidents during its operational history. Most of the previous revenue has been returned to users through SIP-2 and SIP-3. This airdrop will use the remaining project revenue, and the team will also contribute additional funds. Co-founder AG stated that the peak TVL reached $200 million without external VC funding, but it failed to become one of the top three perpetual contract DEXs. He believes that relying on short-term speculative token issuance without providing long-term value will incur costs for users.

The airdrop query page will go live on October 26, 2026, at 00:00 UTC. The claim window is from November 1, 2026, at 00:00 to December 31, 2026, at 08:00 UTC, using BNB Chain or Solana wallet addresses to claim the full DUSD. Unclaimed portions will be void. Eligibility is based on activities such as pre-deposits, Alpha, mainnet trading, market making, and referrals, and must pass anti-sybil and volume-fraud screening.

Operational arrangements: All earnings will stop from October 15, and new treasury and deposits will close. Trading will remain normal until October 20, after which it will enter a mode of only reducing positions. Users must close their positions by January 15, 2027, and complete transfers from the Perps wallet to the Cash wallet and withdraw on-chain by January 31, with redemption requests also needing to be submitted by that date. DUSD is fully backed by assets.

Funding has shifted from the expectation of token issuance to a one-time DUSD airdrop and an orderly exit. Users will transition from continuous earnings and trading to claiming, closing positions, and withdrawing within a specified timeframe. The remaining project revenue and additional team funds will be used for community rewards. The narrative relying on the value capture of the platform token has ended.

StandX was founded at the end of 2025 by core members AG and Justin from the former Binance contract team, along with AC from Goldman Sachs. AG and Justin were involved in building Binance contracts from the ground up. AC has experience with Goldman Sachs' liquidity engine and on-chain trading at Amber Group. The platform has no external VC funding.

The team is shifting resources from token issuance to a one-time DUSD airdrop funded by remaining revenue and personal funds. AG explicitly stated that they will not advance a TGE, as they cannot provide sustainable long-term value. Operations will be phased out from earnings distribution, trading, closing positions to withdrawals and redemptions. DUSD will remain fully collateralized.

Similar perpetual contract DEXs have chosen not to issue tokens and end operations with stablecoin airdrops after failing to reach top targets. Currently, StandX is in a phase of orderly exit after strategic evaluation, returning funds fully to the community.

This essentially reflects a capital path adjustment and regulatory changes. The shift from token issuance expectations to a one-time airdrop and platform closure indicates that after failing to reach the top three targets and unwilling to push tokens through short-term speculation, the team has chosen to directly allocate remaining and additional funds to users, while setting clear deadlines for claiming, closing positions, and withdrawals, thus transferring funds from platform operations to user wallets and avoiding costs borne by the community due to insufficient value after token launch.

  1. When failing to reach top targets, projects choose one-time stablecoin airdrops instead of token issuance

  2. Remaining revenue and additional team funds are directly returned to the community before the platform orderly closes

  3. Non-locked airdrops and clear deadlines facilitate the transfer of funds from the platform to user wallets
