Uniswap Founder Hayden Adds Automatic Compounding LP Feature to Roadmap
Uniswap founder Hayden announced that the technical design for automatic compounding liquidity is his personal contribution to pools.trade and will be added to the Uniswap roadmap.
The mechanism is as follows: liquidity positions are deposited into a smart contract, and anyone can withdraw all unclaimed fees, provided they increase the position size by 0.2%. Fees accumulate over time, and when they exceed 0.2% of the liquidity, seekers are naturally incentivized to add liquidity and claim fees. This design is based on the Uniswap token jar and can also be used for regular Uniswap LP positions.
This signals an expansion of Uniswap protocol functions, focusing on optimizing and automating the LP experience. Liquidity providers benefit from the convenience of automatic compounding, while the protocol ecosystem is pressured to achieve secure implementation.

Hayden's design contribution on pools.trade is directly fed back to the Uniswap core, reflecting the technical interoperability between the protocol and surrounding products. The 0.2% threshold design replaces centralized compounding services with economic incentives, maintaining decentralization.
On the capital path, automatic compounding can improve LP capital efficiency and attract more passive liquidity. The motivation is to reduce user operational friction while utilizing seekers (related to MEV) to complete the reinvestment loop.
Similar to other DeFi protocols introducing automated vaults or compounding tools, it is currently in a phase of transitioning from "manual management to incentive-driven automation."
Essentially, this is a technological substitution: manual claiming and reinvestment are partially replaced by on-chain incentive rules, shifting the execution of compounding from user behavior to market arbitrage forces.
