ChatGPT has added credit score tracking to its financial features: U.S. Plus and Pro users can connect to Experian credit reports and VantageScore 3.0, view factors affecting their scores, and receive alerts for new inquiries, new accounts, or address changes.

The connection is separate from Plaid bank accounts, and users do not need to link a card first. Users can initiate it from the conversation or financial homepage, redirecting to Experian for identity verification and authorization, with scores and reports updated monthly. Users can inquire about reported accounts, balances, limits, utilization rates, repayment records, and inquiry records. The feature is available on the web and the latest iOS and Android apps, with some eligible users seeing it later. OpenAI states that it receives the connection status and user-authorized credit data, with verification information collected by Experian.

The UK market has previously been able to view local 1250-point scores in ChatGPT's Experian application, emphasizing that score displays remain within the credit agency's login environment. The U.S. version embeds credit reports directly into the Finances main process, integrating with existing accounts and goal planning in the same conversation.

The buy-side consists of subscription users who want to keep daily financial management in the conversation, and data institutions that move the credit entry to the main model interface; the sell-side includes users reluctant to grant credit authorization to chat products. The event driver is the official feature launch. Beneficiaries include OpenAI's subscription stickiness and Experian's authorized traffic; pressures are on independent credit monitoring apps and banks' proprietary financial assistants.

The market is trading the entry point for credit data, not just another chat skill.
