.si is Slovenia's country code domain, operated by the public registry ARNES. Public records and fact-checking show no evidence that Jared Kushner, Elon Musk, or the Trump family own this top-level domain, the registry, or earn revenue from related domain sales. Most individual .si name holders are not public, and claims linking the domain to insiders remain unverified.

What has been verified is the change in terminology and registration volume. Trump signed Executive Order 14434 on September 29, requiring federal agencies to use Super Intelligence and SI instead of Artificial Intelligence and AI, applicable to documents, websites, reports, and non-statutory documents. This order only binds the executive branch, not companies or the public, and does not rewrite existing laws and contracts. The definition still refers to the original scope of artificial intelligence in the U.S. Code.

The Slovenian registry Register.si reported approximately 44,000 new .si addresses registered in September, compared to less than 2,000 in August, an increase of over 2100%. On September 30, about 11,000 were registered in a single day. Klara Herman, a spokesperson for the registry, stated that the scale in late September was unprecedented compared to the previous 12 months. Daily charts obtained by Snopes show fewer than 1,000 on September 20, over 4,000 on September 23, and more than 10,000 the day after the executive order. There was also a surge in May and June, but the registry could not specify the reasons.

The rush to register focused on names related to artificial intelligence and elections, with some occurring before the executive order. Netcraft found that on September 19, a social media post mentioning the term was made at the United Nations General Assembly, and about 52% of a batch of .si domains registered through Dynadot were later listed on the resale market. White House officials told Snopes that claims of renaming for domain profit are unfounded. Snopes could not independently verify whether insiders had prior knowledge or profited from this.

Buyers are speculators betting on the appreciation of the SI abbreviation, while sellers are the Slovenian public registry's registration slots, not a family's inventory. The event is driven by the executive order's terminology, not a change in the registry's ownership. Beneficiaries are speculators who registered first and then listed for sale; those under pressure are trademark holders wanting to maintain their brand. There are no public records linking the proceeds to Kushner, Musk, or the Trump family.
