Relay completes $20 million funding to promote creator distribution

Content distribution startup Relay has announced the completion of a $20 million funding round, with investors including Google, Point72, and a Reddit co-founder. The funds will be used to launch brand content generation and creator distribution products.

After submitting their website, brands can have the system read their selling content, target users, and tone, and then generate slides and videos in formats that are currently gaining views. Users can swipe left or right to decide whether to publish, and can also edit the copy beforehand. The entry-level plan costs $25 for the first month and $49 per month thereafter, producing 40 pieces of content each month, with 20 pieces published to connected TikTok accounts.

The growth plan costs $45 for the first month and $99 per month thereafter, producing 120 pieces of content each month, with 60 published, and a team limit of 3 people. The scale plan costs $149 for the first month and $249 per month thereafter, producing 300 pieces of content each month, with 150 published, and a team limit of 5 people, also opening up a creator network, with additional charges for creator posts. Managed services purchase user-generated ads from the network at about $5 per piece and continue to increase production based on successful hooks.

The company claims to cover 50,000 creators in the U.S., with a process that includes website submission, content generation, automatic distribution, and then collecting views and insights. The public post was released by General Manager Kailash Sarma, whose resume indicates previous experience in venture capital, banking, and consulting. On the launch day, a comment website address and a free entry to generate a brand content library were also provided.

The official website places its own TikTok account as the first step, while the creator network is only listed under the scale plan. The post states that it automatically distributes to 50,000 creators and drives millions of views, while the site notes that creator posts need to be purchased separately. Public materials did not disclose valuation, round, lead investor entities, or which specific Reddit co-founder invested.

Brands can purchase approved content production and distribution inventory, while creators sell account placements. Google and Point72's investments go into the distribution layer rather than individual ad accounts. This is a customer acquisition driven by product launch, benefiting networks that can supply content in bulk and brands with existing material libraries, while putting pressure on small to medium-sized agencies that charge per piece and tools that only generate content without controlling distribution.
