Tesla Robotaxi Unsupervised Fleet Expands to 25 in Austin

Tesla has been continuously expanding its Robotaxi testing in Texas cities such as Austin, Dallas, and Houston since launching the Cybercab project in 2024. Previously, it accumulated unsupervised mileage across multiple cities with the FSD v12.5+ version. Similar to Waymo's gradual path from supervised to unsupervised in Phoenix and San Francisco, and Cruise's adjustments after early aggressive expansion, Tesla Robotaxi is currently in an accelerated phase of transitioning from testing validation to commercial-scale deployment.

Essentially, this is a technological substitution: Tesla is rapidly increasing Unsupervised Robotaxi, replacing human safety drivers with a pure AI decision-making system, shifting capital from high labor costs of supervised operations to a scaled autonomous fleet.
