Boston Dynamics released images of the Atlas production process from parts to final assembly and opened positions for ProtoOps and others to recruit for mass production and on-site deployment.

The company launched the all-electric version of Atlas at the January Consumer Electronics Show, stating that production would begin immediately at its Boston headquarters, with full delivery promised to Hyundai Motor Group's Georgia robotics super factory application center and Google DeepMind by 2026, while external customers are queued until 2027. The application center was activated on September 21 near Savannah, where Atlas trains on real sorting, logistics, and sorting tasks, with plans to move into a new building approximately ten times larger by 2027 and extend into non-automotive scenarios. As the controlling shareholder, Hyundai plans to deploy 25,000 units in its global factories over the next few years and is building a factory in the U.S. with an annual production capacity of 30,000 robots; the U.S. investment plan is reported to be around $26 billion.

The product version emphasizes reducing specialized parts, actuators, and compatibility with the automotive supply chain, with Hyundai Mobis supplying actuators. The hydraulic parkour version has been retired. Public specifications include approximately 56 degrees of freedom and a lifting capacity of about 50 kg. DeepMind is responsible for the foundational model and generalization. According to former employees, the current monthly production is still very low, with a significant gap to the annual target of 30,000 units, and the company did not disclose the daily rhythm in the recruitment post.

Spot and Stretch have already set commercial precedents, while Atlas is being developed as a humanoid for factory use. The recruitment for trial production operations indicates that the bottleneck lies in assembly, testing, and on-site processes, not just in demonstration videos.

In market mechanics, what is being bought is the internal demand promised by automotive factories, while what is being sold is humanoid production capacity that has not yet been quoted externally. Funding flows from Hyundai's capital expenditures into Boston Dynamics' production line and park; beneficiaries include the controlling shareholder's factory automation narrative and DeepMind's real-body data, while the pressure falls on other car manufacturers and logistics providers that will not be able to purchase goods in 2026. The event-driven aspect is the production line imagery and recruitment, not a public price list.

First, lock the annual production to major shareholders and model partners, then externally announce "production takeoff" to preheat the production line with internal orders. Trial production positions are a better measure of how far there is to go to reach 30,000 units than backflip videos.
