Caitlin Pintavorn announced that after spending four years at Paradigm, she joined Stripe about six months ago, working on zero-to-one projects in Will Gaybrick's technology office.

She writes about her deep involvement in projects at Stripe that she believes are crucial for long-term progress and the global economy, while also continuing angel investing in her spare time, focusing on areas such as materials science, compact nuclear reactors, tissue engineering, and space re-entry, with plans to support similar projects in the long term. Her personal page states that she is based in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, making bets on emerging technologies and zero-to-one projects in the office of the President of Technology and Business at Stripe; her angel investments typically range from $10,000 to $50,000, often being the first check for founders, and she also assists with hiring, fundraising, and making tough decisions.

During her time at Paradigm, she collaborated with founders like Henri Stern and learned methodologies from Matt Huang's team. She still holds the title of Venture Partner at Paradigm. Her public investments include seed rounds for Standard Economics, Plural Energy, Series A for Privy (which was later acquired by Stripe, where she served as a board observer), and Series A for nxyz (which was also acquired by Snowflake, where she similarly served as an observer). Her personal angel investment focus includes accelerating material discovery, compact nuclear reactors, bridging the gap between simulated and real human biology, and opening trade routes between orbit and Earth.

She completed her undergraduate studies in Economics and Public Health at Brown University, previously invested in crypto at Insight Partners, worked on products at PathAI, and spent time at Two Sigma. In 2023, she was promoted from Investment Manager to Investment Partner at Paradigm. Gaybrick is currently the President of Technology and Business at Stripe, overseeing product engineering and infrastructure; Stripe and Paradigm also co-incubated the payment chain Tempo. After Privy was acquired by Stripe, Stern also joined the Stripe ecosystem, and she mentioned reuniting with him at Stripe.

In market mechanisms, she buys early checks for hard tech founders and zero-to-one positions within payment companies, leveraging her founder network accumulated from her time in crypto funds. The driving force behind this shift is personnel moving from crypto venture capital to internal entrepreneurship in payment infrastructure, while directing checks towards the physical world. Funding flows from Stripe's compensation and her personal accounts into startups in materials, nuclear, biology, and re-entry. Beneficiaries include founders needing initial small checks and introductions, as well as Stripe, which aims to attract crypto talent into stablecoin and payment new ventures; those under pressure are projects that still view her as a full-time crypto investor, as her daily bandwidth has shifted to operations.
