A developer who previously worked at Tesla and Dell has launched elonmuskmails.com, compiling publicly available emails from Elon Musk into an archive searchable by year. The site claims to be a compilation of public emails with sources, not a private inbox.

The page currently lists 80 emails. Three from 2025 include a Wall Street Journal report, but Musk denies sending an X financial email, a request from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management for federal employees to use five statements from last week's emails, and a report from CNN citing xAI's four-week results. The 2024 collection includes an all-staff letter regarding Tesla's layoffs of over 10%.

Two entries from 2023 include a requirement for Twitter employees to return to the office and emails related to receivables, GPUs, and staffing. The site requests users to click on titles to read the full text and cites the source media or original memo. Some readers have requested to display the full text directly and to place the source on the same page instead of requiring another click.

The site emerged after a public post soliciting "any compilations." The poster is currently working on a recruitment product and previously listed Tesla in their resume. The page has no login wall and has not disclosed scraping private servers.

This differs from another category of emails in judicial documents. The Delaware court ruled in the 2022 Twitter lawsuit that no one at SpaceX could retrieve Musk's emails without his consent, and Tesla also requires his explicit consent except for legal necessities. The launched site features publicly available texts, not those ruled not to be disclosed.

Buyers are readers and secondary developers looking to search public management emails by year, while sellers are not Musk's inbox. The event is driven by an individual compiling scattered reports into a site. Attention shifts from single news articles to browsable archives, benefiting those compiling collections and media quoting old letters, while putting pressure on company communications that only retain context in original reports and are broken into single title emails.
