Samsara's Physical AI Covers 99% of U.S. Roads, Processing 250 Trillion Data Points Annually

Samsara CEO Sanjit Biswas stated in an interview that the company's physical AI covers 99% of U.S. roads daily and drives real-world agent actions.

The company has an annual recurring revenue of approximately $2 billion and processes 250 trillion data points each year, helping to prevent around 380,000 traffic accidents in the past year.

Its AI dashcam coaches drivers in real-time, combining edge and cloud models to transform sensor data into actionable workflows.

Sanjit Biswas previously founded Meraki and sold it to Cisco, then established Samsara focusing on connected operations platforms, shifting from IoT dashboards to agent-based actions.

On the capital path, the company accumulates proprietary physical world data through fleet and industrial asset sensors, forming a network effect moat, and then enhances it with generative AI to achieve a closed loop from insights to automated execution.

Similar to Tesla's data-driven approach to autonomous driving, the current industrial IoT is transitioning from monitoring to autonomous operations.

Essentially a technological replacement, physical AI replaces traditional manual inspections and safety monitoring with real-time agent decision-making, reducing accident costs and improving operational efficiency.

ABAB News · Cognitive Laws

  1. The scale of physical data determines the AI moat.
  2. Real-world actions are harder than software suggestions.
  3. Coverage itself is a network effect.
