CryptoPunk #8348 with seven attributes changes hands for $5.9 million

Holder Seedphrase confirmed the sale of CryptoPunk #8348 for a total price of $5.9 million. He held it for over six years and hesitated for months; the transaction took place in a beer tent at the Munich Oktoberfest, with a statement written afterward. The buyer's identity remains undisclosed, but he requested the buyer to act as a qualified custodian for the punk, which the buyer has agreed to.

This is the only seven-attribute punk in the entire series, featuring buck teeth, a mole, a beard, earrings, a top hat, a cigarette, and classic sunglasses. He purchased it on May 20, 2020, for 85 Ethereum, which was about $18,143 at the time, recalling it to be around $18,000. In August 2021, he listed it for 60,000 Ethereum but later canceled the order.

On-chain disclosures separate from the total price. The lending platform GONDI announced the transaction as 3 million USDC plus an undisclosed amount, and used Sell & Repay to settle the loan in the same transaction; the loan was previously about 2.8 million USDC. A third party calculated the net cash to be about $3 million, which is the total price minus about $2.9 million in debt. Payment was made in USDC, with the asset being a packaged CryptoPunks 721, not directly purchasing the original punk with Ethereum.

This avatar has been used as his identity for six years. He performed as a DJ in Europe, North America, and the Middle East wearing a physical helmet, collaborating with Louis Vuitton, Swarovski (via mmERCH), and Dolce & Gabbana, participating in art events in Miami, Ibiza, and London, and releasing original music, vinyl, and merchandise. The NFT boom in 2021 allowed him to turn his 2020 purchase into these scenes.

In the past 12 to 18 months, he has been shrinking the Seedphrase business, returning to trading before 2020, working on Wolf Game, and exploring AI. Creatively, he wants to appear under his real name Danny without the helmet, showcasing his musical tastes more and participating in art events more as an individual. He stated that selling does not change what he has accomplished and does not mean leaving the field.

The buyer is an anonymous custodian, while the seller is exiting collateral. The event is driven by the expiration of holdings and loan structures, not a floor price transaction. Funds entered GONDI in USDC, first repaying the loan and then leaving net value; benefiting are the transaction records of the lending platform and the new holder, while the old play of treating rare avatars as identity shells is under pressure. On the same day, another zombie punk #3609 changed hands for 875,000 USDC.

The series record remains the 8,000 Ethereum sale of alien #5822 in 2022. The floor price is currently about 33 Ethereum, approximately $89,000, higher than the beginning of the year but lower than the peak of about 54 Ethereum in late July 2025. #8348 followed the collateral auction route, not changing the floor.
