Elon Musk retweeted SpaceX stating that the company is constructing future infrastructure, covering supercomputers, Terafab, Gigasat, and the Louisiana Starbase.

The quartet has previously been introduced separately and is now summarized in a slogan. The Louisiana Starbase is located on Pecan Island in Vermilion Parish, covering approximately 125,000 acres, with a promised investment of about $100 billion, planning to break ground in 2027 and launch the first Starship in 2029, aiming for thousands of flights annually, with a promotional goal of over 30 launches per day, setting up about 10 launch pads, producing methane propellant, generating power, deep-water shipping, and vehicle handling, potentially with an airport. The company claims over 3,000 long-term jobs with an average salary of about $92,600 over ten years; Musk verbally mentioned about 10,000 jobs; no conventional property tax will be paid, instead, approximately $820 million will be paid to the parish over about 25 years, with land costs already around $100 million. The land includes protected habitats, with shoreline erosion reaching about 23 feet per year, and the company claims it will participate in restoration.

Terafab is an advanced chip complex in Grimes County, Texas, co-developed by SpaceX and Tesla, with an initial investment of about $16.8 billion, planning vertical integration of about 10 million square feet, manufacturing, packaging, and testing logic and storage, serving Optimus, Cybercab, and orbital data centers, claiming a target annual output of about 1 terawatt of computing hardware; the filing previously stated total investment could expand to about $55 billion to $119 billion, with at least 3,000 employees, and Intel joining the contract manufacturing collaboration this year. The Gigasat factory in Bastrop spans about 11 million square feet, producing satellites for orbital data centers, aiming for about 1 gigawatt of on-orbit AI computing power annually by the end of 2027, with subsequent increases by orders of magnitude; a solar workshop is planned to be about 1.1 million square feet, expandable to about 1.6 million, with an annual production of about 10 gigawatts of batteries. The single satellite computing payload is promoted at about 150 kilowatts. SpaceX and NVIDIA plan to launch AI computing satellites in Q4 2027, with further investments in 2028. Gwynne Shotwell stated that the launch site will serve orbital data centers, allowing AI to utilize extraterrestrial resources.

The supercomputer project was not separately listed in this retweet, alongside the ground xAI cluster and on-orbit computing narrative. Texas already has a Starbase, with Bastrop and McGregor nodes. The logic of the quartet is: self-manufacturing chips, self-manufacturing computing satellites, and using super heavy rockets to launch from two locations in the Gulf.

In market mechanisms, this is a vertical integration expectation, not a gigawatt already connected to the grid. Buyers want to lock in launch windows and chip production capacity for internal business lines; sellers SpaceX sell a scalable story to the capital market. Funds flow from Starlink, launch contracts, and Tesla cash into cement and lithography. Beneficiaries are launch companies that can sell satellites as cabinets; pressured parties are the electricity costs and land acquisition cycles of large-scale ground data centers, as well as the still externally sourced advanced processes in robotics and automotive sectors. Before the first flight in 2029, the Louisiana project is about permitting and earthworks, not shuttles.

Supplementary data: Meta's planned Hyperion ground center is fully equipped at about 5 gigawatts, and the xAI Memphis cluster is close to about 2 gigawatts, used as a comparison for on-orbit annual growth targets. SpaceX claims Louisiana will be the fourth and largest launch site. Some launch pads are planned to be arranged in pairs, each with its own propellant and spray tank areas.
