OpenAI Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser announced her resignation this week, with the company appointing former Wiz President and COO Dali Rajic as her successor.

Dresser joined OpenAI in December 2025 from her position as CEO of Slack, serving for less than nine months. Her responsibilities had previously expanded to include some business operations work from former COO Brad Lightcap. In an internal communication, she stated that she would complete the transition in the coming weeks and pursue other opportunities.

Brad Lightcap announced his departure after eight years with the company on Tuesday to embark on a new venture. He had previously transitioned from COO to special projects in April. Fidji Simo officially stepped down as head of applications and business in July due to a worsening chronic neuroimmune disease and transitioned to an advisory role.

OpenAI submitted IPO documents confidentially to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in June, with a current valuation of approximately $852 billion, but has not disclosed a specific timeline for going public. Some existing investors were surprised by Dresser's departure, with SignAudit.AI founder Kevin McCormick stating that an executive leaving before an IPO is a significant red flag.

Company President Greg Brockman revealed in an internal message that annualized revenue growth in July exceeded 20% quarter-over-quarter, with enterprise customer revenue growing by 32%. The number of enterprise customers has reached 2 million, doubling from a year ago.

CFO Sarah Friar plans to hold a meeting with investors, which Brockman will also attend to discuss company strategy and recent executive changes.

In the market, event-driven funds are reassessing OpenAI's stability before its IPO, with existing financial backers under pressure and possibly delaying subsequent funding rounds. The growth of enterprise business continues to attract long-term capital, while Brockman and Altman's team benefit from concentrated power, and early investors and potential public market buyers face pressure due to uncertainty.
