Starcloud Completes $250 Million Financing Valuation at $2.3 Billion

Starcloud announced the completion of a $250 million Series A extension financing, with a post-money valuation of $2.3 billion. The round was led by Manhattan West, with new investors including NVIDIA and Cisco Investments, while existing shareholders Benchmark and EQT continued to participate.

This financing brings Starcloud's total funding to $450 million since its establishment in 2024. The company plans to use the funds to expand manufacturing capacity, collaborate on engineering projects with NVIDIA, and secure future launch slots. Next week, it will move into a new 100,000 square foot facility, aiming to increase production rates to 100 satellites per week.

Starcloud focuses on low Earth orbit data centers, aiming to build a constellation of 88,000 satellites to provide 20 gigawatts of orbital computing power. By November 2025, it plans to launch its first NVIDIA H100 GPU into orbit and complete orbital AI training and inference demonstrations.

NVIDIA and Starcloud are collaborating on the Space-1 Vera Rubin module, designed specifically for radiation and extreme orbital environments. Cisco contributes expertise in networking and optical communications. CEO Philip Johnston stated that this round of financing will support the large-scale deployment of more advanced GPUs into space.

The company currently has about 25 employees and is advancing the construction of the next-generation Starcloud-3 spacecraft production line.

From a market mechanism perspective, funds are flowing from chip and networking giants to orbital computing infrastructure, reflecting the ground energy bottleneck driving space alternatives; the event is driven by financing, benefiting startups with launch and GPU synergy capabilities, while traditional ground data center operators face long-term replacement pressure.
