Start9 CEO Matt Hill: We rewrote the operating system because the old paradigm has completely failed

In a tech podcast, Start9 CEO Matt Hill introduced to host Guy Swann that the team has spent three years rewriting the entire operating system from scratch, launching the new version StartOS 0.4.0. He stated that this version aims to address the fundamental flaws of traditional network architecture, with the newly launched StartWRT making decentralized network configuration "as simple as assembling IKEA furniture."

Since its inception, Start9 has focused on building localized, self-hosted digital infrastructure, and this iteration is seen as a significant engineering phase for decentralized computing. Hill also systematically discussed the conflict between privacy technology and the trend of AI centralization in the program, emphasizing the importance of controlling one's own data and computing nodes.
