Kalshi Launches GPU Power Forward Curve Based on Prediction Market Prices
Kalshi founder Tarek Mansour announced the launch of a GPU power forward curve derived from prediction market prices, currently covering Nvidia B200, H200, and A100 chips.
The forward curve tracks implied future prices, allowing mature commodity markets to form expectations, allocate capital, and manage risks.
Tarek believes that the lack of market infrastructure for computing power is similar to the former NYMEX oil OTC trading, and that a derivatives market will be needed in the future to facilitate price discovery.
Prediction markets are suitable for addressing the non-standardization of computing power, aggregating dispersed opinions to form transparent prices.
From a market mechanism perspective, the launch of computing power derivatives boosts the adoption of prediction markets, allowing hyperscalers to allocate capital more efficiently, with expectations for related GPU and AI infrastructure being supported.

Kalshi previously focused on event prediction markets and is now expanding into computing power derivatives, similar to its innovations in traditional financial derivatives, which have filled information gaps through prediction mechanisms.
In terms of capital pathways, Kalshi is aligning resources with hyperscalers towards the computing power forward curve, motivated by the establishment of standardized pricing, strategically providing risk management tools for the current $700 billion expenditure and the future $7-10 trillion market.
Similar to the evolution of energy and interest rate markets, this round of computing power is in the early stages of transitioning from OTC to standardized derivatives.
Essentially, this is about building capital infrastructure; Kalshi generates the GPU forward curve through prediction markets, with the mechanism of aggregating market expectations to form transparent pricing, thereby reducing friction in computing power allocation and providing mature risk management tools for the AI economy. Futures and perpetual contracts will further amplify the scale in the future.
