Former OpenAI Member Tian Yonglong Joins Tencent Hunyuan
Former OpenAI technical team member Tian Yonglong has confirmed his joining of Tencent's Hunyuan team, where he will participate in the research and development of visual language models.
Tian Yonglong graduated from Tsinghua University and obtained his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He previously served as a senior research scientist at Google Research and Google DeepMind, focusing on computer vision and generative models.
This is another significant talent acquisition for Tencent Hunyuan following the recruitment of chief AI scientist Yao Shunyu last December; the Hunyuan team recently launched the official version of the Hy3 model led by Yao Shunyu and made it open source.
