Reddit co-founder and 776 Fund founder Alexis Ohanian posted that another 776 roundtable discussion on the future of artificial intelligence and sports is taking place, with ScorePlay CEO Victorien Tixier also in attendance. The 776 Table is a closed-door dining brand of his fund and does not include new funding figures. ScorePlay is a portfolio company of 776 and serves as the content infrastructure for several teams and events owned by Ohanian.

ScorePlay was founded by Tixier and Xavier Green, using AI to tag, search, and distribute broadcast and sideline footage. By the time it completed a $13 million Series A round in February 2025, its clients included the NBA, WNBA, Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, NHL, and the U.S. soccer system, claiming a 100% retention rate. Inc. reported that it first entered the U.S. market through soccer before targeting the NFL; Ohanian is both a client and investor. Publicly listed clients include the New England Patriots, Brooklyn Nets, Liverpool, PGA Tour, Roland Garros, Angel City, and Major League Soccer. CB Insights reports total funding of approximately $18.99 million, headquartered in Brooklyn.

The product has expanded from media libraries to live broadcasts. The UFL signed a multi-year partnership for the 2026 season, integrating about 10 to 12 broadcast positions from Fox for use by the league's content team and designated creators. The company claims to serve over 300 global rights holders and is involved with the Australian Open. LinkedIn positions itself as a sports content operating system: collecting, centralizing, distributing, and deciding what to shoot next, with editing capabilities on the platform or via Adobe and Avid, with in-game publishing. Ohanian stated that the sports broadcasting rights market is about $60 billion and emphasized that live events cannot be scripted or faked, making them the last remaining content that feels real in the AI era; he has also written that "sports is the ultimate bet against AI," while allowing ScorePlay to provide pipelines for Angel City, women's golf, and Athlos.

The roundtable brings together investors, portfolio companies, and owned teams at the same table. The discussion focuses on how live content can be accelerated in distribution using models, rather than using models to generate the events themselves.

The market mechanism serves as the entry point for rights holders' media assets. The buy-side aims to push footage to social media and creators within seconds after a goal; the sell-side is 776 turning portfolio companies into the default operating system for owned teams. Funding from the Series A round and long-term contracts with the league enters into tagging and live slice computing power. Beneficiaries are funds that hold both team equity and tool equity; the pressured side consists of traditional media groups that rely on manual footage searches and only release clips after events. The event driver is the dining post, not a new rights tender.

Live events cannot be generated or replaced, but the distribution of live content has already been taken over by models. The roundtable sells this layer of operating systems, not the next game.
