Zoom Communications announced the appointment of former Oracle Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jeff Epstein to its board, effective immediately, and he will also join the audit committee. Epstein is currently an operating partner at Bessemer Venture Partners and serves on the boards of Autodesk, AvePoint, and Twilio, and has previously served on the boards of Okta, Couchbase, Poshmark, and Shutterstock. He holds an MBA from Stanford Business School and a bachelor's degree from Yale. Zoom granted him restricted stock units valued at $213,219, corresponding to 2,233 shares, which will vest after one year or before the next annual meeting. CEO and Chairman Eric Yuan stated that Epstein possesses financial and strategic experience in B2B software and vertical AI. Chadwick previously served as CFO and COO at VMware and joined Zoom's board in 2017, covering the period of its IPO and pandemic growth. In recent years, the company has expanded its positioning from video conferencing to meetings, phone, contact centers, and an "action system" with built-in AI.

Jeff Epstein served as Oracle's CFO from 2008 to 2011, succeeding Safra Catz, and is not to be confused with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Zoom is headquartered in San Jose, ticker symbol ZM. Recent financial reports indicate continued growth in enterprise business, with an upward revision in free cash flow guidance, and the stock price is sensitive to guidance.

The board has entrusted the audit seat to a former CFO with experience in large software acquisition accounting, corresponding to the governance needs of transitioning from explosive growth post-pandemic to a focus on profits and buybacks.
