Base Officially Launches Base MCP, Enabling On-Chain Operations with AI Agents
Base has officially launched Base MCP, allowing users to connect their Base accounts to AI Agents and perform on-chain operations such as transfers, token exchanges, asset inquiries, and protocol interactions directly through a chat interface.
This feature supports AI clients compatible with MCP, including Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Cursor, and covers Base ecosystem protocols such as Morpho, Moonwell, Aerodrome, and Uniswap.
After logging in with OAuth 2.1 authorization, AI Agents can initiate transaction requests in the chat, with all operations requiring manual user confirmation. The system does not hold private keys, and transactions are signed by the user after displaying simulated results in a pop-up on the Base account.
Base also supports developers in creating custom Skill Plugins, with plans to expand the plugin ecosystem in the future, deepening the integration of AI Agents with the on-chain economy.
