Anthropic Orbit Active AI Briefing Feature Gradually Launched
Anthropic is conducting a gray test of a new feature called Orbit on web and mobile platforms. This is an active personalized briefing and insight system that spans Claude and Claude Code, allowing users to opt-in.
Orbit can sense the user's time zone and automatically extracts information from six major tools: Gmail, Slack, GitHub, Calendar, Drive, and Figma to generate customized briefings. Currently, it appears in the form of a settings panel switch and is in the pre-release phase.
The feature primarily targets developers and designers, with differentiated access to GitHub and Figma. The Anthropic Code with Claude Developer Conference will be held on May 6 in San Francisco, where Orbit may be showcased.

ABAB AI Insight
Anthropic previously enhanced productivity scenarios through Artifacts and Projects, and this time Orbit continues the transition from passive dialogue to active asynchronous workflows. Earlier, OpenAI launched a similar feature called ChatGPT Pulse in September 2024, and Google Gemini and Perplexity are also following suit. Active briefings have become a standard capability for AI assistants.
On the capital front, Anthropic prioritizes deep exploration of data permissions from developer tools like GitHub and Figma, forming cross-domain insights on code changes, design iterations, and schedules. The strategic motive is to position Claude as the daily operating system for developers, enhancing enterprise payment stickiness and signaling product readiness before the conference.
Similar to OpenAI Pulse's proactive push for general office scenarios, AI productivity tools are currently in a transitional phase from general chat to proactive services in vertical fields. Platforms with deep professional tool integration significantly enhance control over developer and designer groups.
Essentially, this is a technological replacement: Orbit automates the aggregation and insight work of manual cross-application information. The mechanism relies on time zone awareness and opt-in multi-tool connections, greatly reducing user cognitive load and shifting productivity pricing power from general AI chat to deep vertical integration (especially in code and design tools), accelerating the concentration of industry capital towards AI companies like Anthropic that focus on professional workflows.

The earlier AI proactively pushes, the later developers will manually switch tools. The depth of integration determines the status of the daily operating system. The deeper the integration with GitHub and Figma, the less Orbit resembles a general briefing and the more it becomes a developer's exclusive second brain. The more precise the opt-in gray launch, the faster the active assistant transitions from a feature to a work habit, with timing always ahead of the conference.
