Anthropic has officially launched "Claude for Financial Advisors," aimed at financial advisors and registered investment advisors (RIAs), integrating the chatbot with financial data, portfolio analysis, and risk management technologies provided by institutions such as BlackRock, Vanguard, and Charles Schwab.

The product is offered in a "connector + skill package" format—connectors cover mainstream wealth management tech platforms like Addepar, BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, SS&C Black Diamond, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, Vanguard, Zocks, as well as enterprise systems like Microsoft 365, Salesforce, DocuSign, Box, FactSet, S&P Global, and Morningstar; the accompanying "skills" include meeting preparation, post-meeting notes, portfolio rebalancing reviews, alternative investment briefings, estate and tax analysis, client outreach, advisor onboarding training, and compliance reviews for SEC marketing rules.

Peter Nolan, head of Anthropic's asset and wealth management business, positions it as a "conductor," emphasizing that the product does not replace existing advisor tools but integrates fragmented systems, with final client advice and communication still requiring advisor review and approval; pricing is offered through an enterprise package at approximately $70 to $120 per user per month, with institutions applying for new licenses before September 30 receiving a one-time usage credit.

Industry professionals like Jaime Magyera from BlackRock Wealth Management and Josh Brown from Ritholtz Wealth Management publicly endorse the product, highlighting its potential to significantly save advisors' administrative time; this is not Anthropic's first foray into the financial sector—the company launched the first version of "Claude for Financial Services" back in July 2025, with early clients including Bridgewater Associates and Norway's sovereign wealth fund, and in May of this year, it released 10 additional AI tools aimed at banks and insurance companies.

Competitors are quick to follow—just four days before Anthropic's release, OpenAI launched "ChatGPT for Financial Services," partnering with Morgan Stanley, S&P Global, and others, targeting the daily tasks of junior analysts in investment banking; compared to OpenAI's approach of "consumer-first, gradually entering enterprise," Anthropic continues to adopt a strategy of directly entering regulated, high-value enterprise workflows.

For institutions like BlackRock, Vanguard, and Charles Schwab, becoming official data and technology partners for Claude means leveraging Anthropic's distribution channels to reach more independent financial advisor clients; for Anthropic, enterprise software subscription revenue is a crucial support point in its pursuit of a Nasdaq IPO, seeking a valuation of around $2 trillion, and the simultaneous launch of competing products by OpenAI indicates that the AI tools market for financial advisors and investment banking analysts is becoming a new battleground for revenue competition between the two labs.
