Anthropic announced the launch of the Claude Marketplace, consolidating plugins and connectors, purchasable agents and products, and consulting service partners into a single entry point.

The official statement outlines three categories of use: adding connectors and plugins for Slack, Notion, as well as Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, etc., with over 2000 available; purchasing Claude-driven software from companies like Cursor, CrowdStrike, Harvey, Legora, Lovable, Snowflake using committed Anthropic spending; and connecting with implementation partners in the Claude collaboration network, such as Accenture, Boston Consulting, and Deloitte, to integrate the model into organizations. The connectors are based on the company's promoted Model Context Protocol and Agent Skills. The page also lists products like Factory, Gamma, Vercel, GitLab, and Hebbia, with security provided by CrowdStrike Charlotte AI.

Billing is described as enterprise procurement consolidation: partner orders can be counted against existing Anthropic commitment amounts, with unified invoicing from Anthropic. The marketplace is set to start in March 2026 with about six companies including GitLab and Snowflake, expanding in September to include CrowdStrike, Cursor, Factory, Gamma, and Vercel, nearly doubling the partners. Builders can submit MCP connectors, apply to list agents, or join the partner network to appear in the service directory. The service partner page showcases major global partners and about 88 implementation agencies.

This transforms model subscriptions into platform revenue sharing. Enterprises no longer need to go through procurement for coding assistants, security agents, and legal tools separately, as the budget is divided within the same commitment pool. Anthropic thus sells both reasoning and shelf space simultaneously; independent software will be shifted to existing large contract client lists. On the same day, Amazon released Claude plugins for independent sellers, allowing inventory and price adjustments within the assistant, emphasizing that external agents must comply with site rules—Amazon itself is a significant investor in Anthropic.

In terms of market mechanics, buyers are enterprise IT departments with signed annual commitments looking to reduce tool bills; sellers are vertical software and the Big Four consulting firms wanting to enter the Claude desktop. Funds flow from dispersed SaaS contracts to "commitment amounts that can be deducted" on the shelf. Beneficiaries include Cursor, Harvey, and CrowdStrike, which have already used Claude as their core, while those under pressure must get clients to open new budgets and cannot integrate into MCP, as well as opposing model factories that only build app stores within their own chat windows.

On a supplementary level, the connector directory shows about 830 connectors and 337 plugins listed separately; the agent and product shelf currently has about 15 entries. Anthropic has not disclosed revenue sharing ratios or listing review standards.
