Since its launch in January, Gyde has completed the acquisition of seven insurance brokerage firms within seven months, attempting to enter the U.S. health insurance brokerage market through acquisition integration and AI workflow transformation.

Co-founder and CEO Will Johnson stated that the goal is not to replace brokers with AI, but to software the processes of underwriting, renewal, client communication, plan comparison, and backend operations that traditionally relied on manual handling, allowing the existing team to serve more policyholders with fewer human resources.

The U.S. health insurance brokerage industry is facing a supply gap: for every six brokers who leave or retire, only one new broker enters; meanwhile, a large segment of the U.S. population is entering the Medicare-eligible age, increasing the demand for senior medical insurance consulting, plan selection, registration, and renewal services.

Gyde's acquisition path integrates the client relationships, licensing capabilities, and local sales teams of traditional brokerage firms into a unified platform, replacing repetitive paperwork and operational processes with AI. Its core asset is not a single model, but the accumulated client data, business processes, compliance records, and ongoing commission relationships of the acquired companies.

This model differs from pure AI customer service or insurance comparison platforms: Gyde chooses to directly acquire entities with existing clients and brokerage qualifications, then transform their workflows. This allows AI to be embedded in the regulated sales, consulting, and renewal chain, rather than just remaining at the customer acquisition or support level.

In market mechanics, sellers are primarily small brokerage firms facing retirement, a lack of successors, and pressure for digital investment; buyers are integration platforms with financing capabilities willing to bet on AI operational leverage. If Gyde can reduce the service cost per client and increase the productivity per broker, it will benefit from renewal commissions from existing clients; independent brokerage firms that cannot complete system migrations and lack technological investment will face higher competitive pressure.
