OpenSea has connected with Perplexity Computer, allowing the AI agent to access OpenSea's on-chain market data to answer questions related to tokens, collectibles, and on-chain activities, covering over 25 chains. The interface is made available through the Perplexity connector.

Once the connector is enabled, the agent can pull real-time cross-chain signals from OpenSea's perspective: the most traded tokens during a specific period, assets ranked by market activity, and transaction and collection trends directly from the platform. The company states that the answers will reference OpenSea data, rather than just price sources.

Perplexity Computer is positioned as a platform for executing multi-step tasks and anchoring answers in citable data. Devin Finzer, co-founder and CEO of OpenSea, stated that the on-chain market is built for agents, with information being open, real-time, and verifiable; people are already asking what is moving on-chain, and with this integration, those answers come from real market activity, not outdated data or speculation.

The press release was issued by OpenSea through a business news agency in Miami. Perplexity has previously connected its agents to data sources for stocks, options, crypto trading, and sports odds; Coinbase has also provided market data to it. OpenSea's documentation is simultaneously promoting its own on-chain agent tools for registration and paid access, which is not the same product line as this "query first, then reference transactions" approach.

Buyers are users and agents asking "what is trading, who is collecting," while sellers treat the order book as data material. Funds do not go through the transaction matching step but flow first to query distribution and brand exposure. Beneficiaries are the order books that need to be cited by language models; those under pressure are data vendors with only static prices and no transaction structure. This is a distribution channel event, not a new transaction matching launch.
