Solana Team Establishes Office in Shanghai, Claims to Occupy the World's Highest Commercial Space

Members of the Solana team announced that they have established an office in Shanghai, China. Core member Vibhu and Foundation Chair Lily Liu referred to this space as the world's highest commercial office space.

The team shared photos of the office on October 14. Vibhu stated that Solana occupies the world's highest commercially available office space in Shanghai, and Lily Liu confirmed, "It's true." Solana Foundation Chief Strategy Officer Rachel Conlan shared images of the Shanghai office alongside the city skyline. She previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at Coin Security and joined the Solana Foundation in September.

Previously, Solana opened the Shanghai Builder Station at the Alibaba Center in Hongqiao on March 20, 2026, with support from the Minhang District, positioning it as a collaborative base for developers focusing on Layer 1 infrastructure and applications rather than direct trading promotion. The Solana Accelerate China tour will take place from October 16 to 22 in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Beijing, with an agenda centered around technological infrastructure, AI, and robotics.

CZ shared related content and expressed amazement at Solana's ability to advertise and even establish an office in China, noting that BNB Chain has not yet achieved this and hoping that benefits gained by industry participants will also extend to others. China has strict regulations on virtual currencies, and Solana has chosen to enter with a focus on developers and technology.

Funding is expanding from overseas markets to the Chinese developer community and local entities. Solana is leveraging its office and tour to attract local developers and application opportunities. Advertising and physical space increase brand visibility. BNB Chain faces relative pressure in similar physical and advertising layouts. Developer resources are leaning towards networks that provide local bases.

Lily Liu, Chair of the Solana Foundation, and product lead Vibhu publicly emphasized the height of the Shanghai office. Rachel Conlan, who joined from Binance, is responsible for strategy and shared skyline advertisements and the office. Solana previously established a Builder Station and arranged a four-city tour.

The foundation is investing resources into local physical bases and developer activities. The positioning is expanding from purely online networks to urban offices and tours in China. Advertisements are displayed on the skyline, and the office focuses on technology and building. CZ compared BNB Chain's physical and advertising layout in China.

Similar public chains have emerged in restricted markets, entering as developer bases rather than through trading promotion. Current competition among public chains is at a stage of physical presence and local developer acquisition.

Essentially, this is about restructuring the industry chain and capital concentration. Local offices and tours will concentrate developer resources towards networks that provide physical bases. The mechanism is to establish a legitimate visible presence under virtual currency restrictions, focusing on infrastructure, AI, and robotics themes, allowing developer collaboration and application building to shift from remote to local bases, while enhancing brand visibility through skyline advertisements.
