Beezie, an on-chain collectibles platform, has recorded a sale priced at $1 million for a 1999 first edition base set holographic Charizard card, graded PSA 10. Co-founder and CEO Andrea Yellie stated in a podcast that the Pokémon and card market has overheated in the past one to two years, with on-chain behavior closely mirroring offline collecting motivations, leading to high prices once entry tools are in place.

The platform's business side referred to this transaction as a world record, noting that the previous high in public auctions was $954,800 at Goldin, which included a $184,800 buyer's premium, with the hammer price around $770,000. In November 2025, Beezie had previously put a Charizard of the same grade on-chain for $300,000, purchased by a collector and stored in a Brink’s vault. PSA population reports indicate there are approximately 120 PSA 10 first edition Charizard cards. Heritage sold one for $550,000 in December 2025, and there was a record of $954,800 in February 2026; around the same time, eBay also saw a sale of approximately $1,001,000 for a PSA 10 first edition shadowless Charizard.

Beezie has tokenized physical graded cards, original boxes, and sneakers, initially launching on Flow and later expanding to Base and Solana, with vault custody. In May 2026, it reported an annualized revenue of about $142 million, with over 540,000 claw machine pulls, and transaction volume exceeding $100 million on Base, with around 530,000 instant buyback exchanges and a buyback rate of about 90%. Each pull is priced between $30 and $500. Tokenization typically requires 7 to 14 business days for storage.

Yellie broke down growth into three parts: the card cycle itself is heating up; on-chain habits of chasing scarcity are similar to physical collecting; and identity, custody, and trading tools can finally map the cards in the vault into tradable positions. Physical cards remain in the insured vault, while ownership certificates are transferred on-chain.

In terms of market mechanics, buyers are collectors and trading accounts holding top-rated cards that can be instantly resold, while sellers are platforms that tokenize vault receipts. Funds flow into the same card from both the card bubble and on-chain liquidity. The event is driven by transaction announcements and podcast interviews. Beneficiaries include Beezie and custodians who can collect both transaction fees and extraction fees; those under pressure are traditional auction houses with slower turnover and counter sales that cannot settle instantly.

The appearance of million-dollar Charizards on both on-chain and eBay simultaneously indicates that price discovery is no longer solely driven by auction house night sessions.
