Two Suspects in Mexico Kill Four for Bitcoin Cold Wallet

According to Cointelegraph, two suspects in Mexico are set to stand trial this week for allegedly killing four people, with prosecutors claiming the motive was to rob a Bitcoin cold wallet containing millions of dollars in assets.

The victims included Jonathan Meléndez, a keyboardist for a rock band, his pregnant wife, daughter, and an employee, with their pet golden retriever also shot dead. The prosecutors described the method of the crime as extremely brutal.

According to prosecutors, one of the suspects had a business relationship with the deceased keyboardist, which is believed to have facilitated their entry into the victim's home, leading to the robbery and murder targeting the Bitcoin cold wallet.

The incident took place in Atizapán de Zaragoza, Mexico State, and the two suspects were arrested by police on September 2. The case has now entered the judicial process and will officially be heard this week.
