Bitwise Launches First Tokenized Crypto Basis Fund USCC

Bitwise has announced the launch of its first tokenized crypto basis fund, the Bitwise Crypto Carry Fund (USCC), marking the company's first fund product to be tokenized.

The fund offers market-neutral returns through a crypto basis trading strategy, supported by underlying technology from Superstate, and is currently open only to qualified investors.

Bitwise stated that all its future funds will gradually be tokenized to enhance liquidity and global accessibility.

Bitwise has previously launched several Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs, and USCC represents its first step in transitioning from traditional ETFs to tokenized funds, continuing its innovative path in crypto asset management. Superstate, as a technology partner, has provided tokenized fund infrastructure to multiple institutions.

In terms of capital strategy, Bitwise packages the stable returns generated from basis trading into a tokenized format, offering qualified investors a low-volatility, bond-like product while paving the way for future public offerings and global distribution. The goal is to combine traditional hedge fund strategies with blockchain liquidity, expanding institutional crypto allocations.

With traditional giants like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton advancing tokenized funds, and the growth of RWA platforms like Ondo Finance, Bitwise is currently in the early stages of traditional asset management companies transitioning from spot ETFs to a full-chain tokenized product matrix.

Essentially, this represents a reconstruction of the industry chain: Bitwise is transforming the crypto basis strategy from traditional private equity forms into on-chain tradable assets, shifting capital from high-threshold qualified investor products to more efficient, global liquidity allocation. Mechanically, this is achieved through Superstate's technology, enabling 24/7 settlement and enhanced transparency, accelerating the structural shift of traditional asset management towards blockchain-native funds.

True institutional products do not sell crypto but package stable returns from crypto into globally liquid tokens. When asset management giants tokenize all their funds, the liquidity barriers of traditional funds will completely disappear. The returns from basis trading have never been attractive, but after tokenization, they can attract the most discerning institutional capital.
