Raskin has sent letters to Trump Jr. and founders Omid Malik and Christopher Buskirk, demanding the submission of a portfolio list, communications with federal officials, records of government actions affecting portfolio companies, and due diligence materials by September 9.

Notable post-investment beneficiaries mentioned in the letter include: Vulcan Elements receiving about $620 million in loans from the Department of Defense and about $50 million in grants from the Department of Commerce; Anduril securing multi-billion dollar government contracts; Juul experiencing relaxed product restrictions after regulatory shifts; and the prediction market Polymarket being allowed to return to the U.S. after being expelled. Raskin wrote that the companies seem to have an "almost clairvoyant" ability to target entities poised to receive administrative cash or regulatory shifts. The minority party lacks subpoena power, and the investigation begins with letters, setting the stage for a potential oversight list if they regain a majority.
